Back when men were men and cyclists carried a spare tire around their shoulders over the Pyrenees. And stole beer, wine and champagne to stay hydrated. And passed out after taking too much dope. And suffered up the Alps for a fleeting shot at yellow. Not that much has changed.
This is a good film for cyclists to watch during the darkest days of winter.
“Vive le Tour.” Directed by Louis Malle.
This film is 19 minutes long and in French, but you don’t have to understand French to enjoy it.
A classic sports documentary.
